Woodwyn Stores

The first Woodwyn store was opened in Port Alberni in 1985. It was an extension of the “Bargain floors” which were so successful selling lower priced merchandise. Also in 1985, additional stores were opened in Guildford and West Edmonton.

By 1987 there were 20 Woodwyn stores.

In 1988 four more were opened, in Maple Ridge, North Vancouver (Park and Tilford), Kelowna, and Vancouver, bringing the total to 24 stores.

By 1990 there were 31 Woodwyn stores.

The Woodwyn stores were successful and have been compared to “Winners”.
